Stop The Coal Plant

Protest Dynegy

May 13th - May 14th, 2008

No Dynegy! To stop global warming, a crucial first step is stopping new coal plants says Dr. Jim Hansen of NASA. But Dynegy, a Houston-based corporation, plans to build six new coal-fired electricity generating plants, more than any other US utility company. The Sandy Creek plant in Riesel east of Waco is one of them.

Texas is already paying the price of climate change in rising home insurance rates. Our children's prosperity depends on a predictable climate and sea level. Disrupting their climate is wrong.

Many utilities have cancelled their coal plans due to worries about the federal carbon emission regulations that are coming soon. Sierra Club, Public Citizen, and other groups are urging Dynegy to also drop its coal plans and instead focus on developing clean energy. www.CleanUpDynegy.org
